Approach to care
Chiropractic care for women, at every stage of life
Women's bodies go through significant physical transitions — during pregnancy, in the postpartum period, through hormonal changes, and across decades of physical activity and stress. Chiropractic care adapted for these transitions can support comfort, mobility, and function at each stage.
Dr. Stethem's prenatal care uses positioning and techniques adapted for each trimester. She sees patients from early pregnancy through to postpartum recovery, and works with mothers whose infants and children may also benefit from family chiropractic care.
She also sees patients outside of pregnancy — women dealing with back pain, neck tension, headaches, posture concerns, and stress-related physical symptoms are a significant part of her practice.
Conditions she commonly sees
- Prenatal back, pelvic, and hip discomfort
- Postpartum recovery and spinal support
- Back and neck pain in women of all ages
- Headaches and tension
- Postural strain from nursing, desk work, or caregiving
- Family and paediatric chiropractic care

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
When provided by a licensed chiropractor using pregnancy-adapted techniques and positioning, chiropractic care is generally considered appropriate for pregnant patients. Dr. Stethem will review your history and current pregnancy status before recommending any care.
Do you see children and infants?
Yes. Paediatric chiropractic care uses very gentle techniques appropriate for children and infants. Please discuss your child's specific situation during the consultation so Dr. Stethem can assess whether chiropractic care is appropriate.
Can I see Dr. Stethem if I'm not pregnant?
Absolutely. Dr. Stethem sees patients for all chiropractic concerns — back pain, neck pain, headaches, posture, and more. Her focus on women's health reflects an area of particular expertise, not a restriction on who she sees.
